Further Evidence Against Dan Brown

It's rather obvious what Christians think of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, particularly in light of the mass of books coming out against it. However, what does a well-established, self-proclaimed agnostic think of it? New Testament scholar Bart D. Ehrman voices his appraisal in Truth and Fiction in the Da Vinci Code.^M

Excellent

Morons on both sides of the Da Vinci Code controversy have dissed the book. The fact is, if you're a born-again Christian or a New Ager, you have no respect for the kind of rigorous, dispassionate research that a scholar of Bart Ehrman's caliber performs. You'd be better off reading a work by some idiot that reinforces your preconceived notions rather than reading a book that illuminates the truth about this popular phenomena.^M

Excellent for those who long for the truth

Dan Brown's "Da Vinci Code" had been a famous and popular book ever. However, this book was based on information that are purely speculative and unhistorical. In this excellent work, Bart Ehrman had given us an insight on what the ancient history and historical document said about Jesus and His relation with Mary Magdalene. Although the conclusion of the book may be disappointing to some (as it simply said that we don't know much about this issue), Ehrman, with his excellent scholarship, present the mere fact of history. He had just admitted to the facts and get rid of the speculation that may be appealing to anybody who want to know something "unorthodox" about Jesus's life. This book stipulates my studies on the early Christian texts and get me out of the crappy Christianity through my persistent study on the Scriptures and its related writings. Bart Ehrman's book is for anyone who wants to know the truth by scholarly means. You should not buy it if what you want is entertainment. Try other novels by Dan Brown or read the "Holy Blood and Holy Grail" stuffs.
