| Paperback Description A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. |

Buy This Book!!! Whatever you do, don't pass up buying and reading this book. Don't deny yourself the message of this book. It is an absolute pearl, a treasury of truth. I am buying several for family and am recommending it to friends. I plan to use it to study over and over. It is wonderfully written and a wonderful life changing message. I am grateful that I was led to it. Buy it and you will thank yourself for having it. Just terrific.
Packer makes it SIMPLE The book "Knowing God" is by far one of the most practical and informative books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. J.I. Packer's gift for teaching challenging topics in a simplistic way makes this book a refreshing read. I appreciated his abundance of Scripture references because too many Christian authors base far too much on personal experience and opinion. The pacing of the book also made it very enjoyable and easy to approach. Often, in my own experiences, theological books are not paced well which leads to confusion and frustration as the reader.^M
Practical application... J.I. Packer's Knowing God addresses modern ideas of God by returning the reader to scripture. His is no candy-coated, God-as-therapist, exegesis, but a practical, no-nonsense application of reason. Packer's biblical pragmatism let's the air out of more convenient notions of God, the Father. He strips the corrupting taint of man's willful interpretation to present an unsullied image of clarity and purpose. He reminds us that the knowledge of God is contained in scripture and that our God-given ability to read and reason are provided to show us the way. ^M
