Clear and Concise
The New Believer's Bible NLT is a wonderful guide for those who are new to Christ and have limited experience with the Bible. The language is plain everyaday English, and written in a way that makes comprehension easy. The topical articles are helpful and give strength to the new believer's walk, while encouraging and stimulating growth.
I agree with PBradley's Review
I'd like to add: what most people don't know is that the KJV is written on a fourth grade level of understanding, King James English and all, and the NIV (one of the most common other versions used today) is written on a second-year college level. Hmmmm, now if the KJV is written on such a basic level of understanding that a fourth grader could understand it, then why all the fuss about it being soooo hard to understand? Because publishers want you to purchase their paraphrases instead. With all the various "translations" out there, competing for business with one another, Christians must remember that there is only ONE word of God, with the meaning and message He intended. It's not hard to understand the KJV once you get a grip of the simple King James' English grammar, which really doesn't take long. It is beautiful poetry that reflects the tender heart of God. Besides, when one has the Holy Spirit, who was the personal author of the Word, to interpret God's words one does not need anything else. Understanding comes into the heart and the person gains understanding. This New Living Translation is worse than the NIV when it comes to removing phrases, adding phrases, and worst of all changing some meanings completely or just plain leaving them out. Check and see how many non-KJV perversions remove the word "blood" where it was in the original manuscript. Talking about the blood of Christ isn't real popular right now in the church, because it might scare away those "seeker" which the "Creekers" need in order to run a better business. I challenge any Christian who has not already done so to check into the Textus Receptus and the majority texts. Compare your favorite modern perversion Bible against the actual Greek and Hebrew renderings, the majority texts...the KJV is the only true translation coming from the textus receptive. All other modern translations derive from the Constantine manuscripts which were changed and modified beyond belief. Check out the www.blueletterbible.org sometime. If you really want to be sure the Bible you use comes from the true and ancient word of God, I challenge you to do the research. It's worth it, isn't it?
