Wonderful book for the serious learner

The entire OT and the apocrypha in Greek with English along side. I am not fluent in Greek but use it as study material.(Two years was not enough for me!) Since I don't know any Hebrew, this should be of benefit to me.

It is pertinent to note that the Septuagint is the Official Bible of the Orthodox Churches, and particularly of the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches, which together encompass nearly 300 million believers worldwide, and in the United States constitute the 4th largest religious denomination in America. To those of us who are Orthodox, the Septuagint is not merely "interesting" or of "scholarly interest", it is the literal word of god.^M

Agreed the references in the Septuagint more agree with science

To me talking about reptiles coming out of the water on Day 5 is more in harmony with the scientific idea of dinosaurs living long before man. Also, the Septuagint pushes the date of mankind's beginning slightly further back than, say, the King James Bible does. And we now have solid genetic proof that man is far older than the KJV's 6,000 years. So any Bible that makes man out to be older than that 6g's is more accurate and the Sep. does just that.
