Refutes KJV/AV Onlyism
One of the nice things about this Bible, apart from it's historical and literary value, is that it shows how many changes have occured tot he KJV since 1611. ^M
A Sacred Feeling Restored
I recieved my 1611 edition today (hardcover) I must say when I opened the pages a feeling of sacredness returned to me that I havent felt for quite some time. I guess over time I've become somewhat insensitive to what a wonderful gift The Bible truely is to mankind. I bought the 1611 edition to have and study a more complete KJV Bible which included the apocrypha but what I got was much more than that. A reminder of the all the faith, the work, and zeal (Not to mention countless lives of the martyred)that has been put into writing, preserving, and carefully translating this truely sacred book. ^M
A real treasure for the Bible enthusiast!
This is a reproduction of the original 1611 King James Version of the Holy Bible. It's a shame that in the 1800's the British and American Bible societies both decided to remove the Apocrypha from all future printings of the Holy Bible, however this reproduction does include that apocrypha and other original writings as well. This hardcover edition of the Bible is very well constructed and utilizes good quality paper - the text size is somewhat small but still readable. Written in Old English it is somewhat difficult to understand, but still, it would make a great gift for collectors or Bible enthusiasts.
